Convento: the 1940s Cinema That's Now a Club in Valencia
· Updated:
Convento is a club in a rationalist-style building that opened as a cinema in the 1940s, at Calle del Convent de Jerusalem 55, behind the Estació del Nord in Valencia, Spain. Today it opens Thursday to Saturday, 23:59 to 07:00, with reggaeton and themed parties over two floors, and it's 18+.

Grupo Salamandra, which runs it along with MYA, Akuarela and Committee, describes it as an emblematic rationalist building that opened as a cinema in the 1940s. Inside there are two floors, with reserved areas on both the first and the second. Despite the name, there's no record that it was ever a convent: Discoruta points out that the source doesn't confirm it, and the name matches the street it's on. It also works as a venue for concerts and private events, with its own lighting, sound and screens.

Convento or Jerusalem?
You'll find it under both names. Grupo Salamandra's Instagram bio lists Jerusalem and Convento among its venues, and directories from 2024 and 2025 described the place as 'Jerusalem Pop & Rock', with pop-rock and indie. There's also a Jerusalem Club brand on Instagram that presents itself as a home for electronic music, gigs and underground culture; we haven't been able to confirm whether it runs in this building today or as a separate project. For a normal weekend night, the name on the door and the tickets is Convento.
From pop-rock to reggaeton
The format has changed. Where older guides talked about pop and rock, the club's own posts in autumn 2026 are about reggaeton and perreo, with themed nights such as 'Peaky Saturdays' or a 'Cowboy Party'. If you're going on the strength of an old review, expect a different night: today it's a commercial and reggaeton club, not an indie bar.

Convento opens on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 23:59 to 07:00, and its Instagram bio sets 18+ for all three nights. Some events set their own age, so check your ticket and bring an original ID. On Friday 23 October 2026, entry with a drink and fast pass was €22; reserved areas started at €150 on the first floor and €300 on the second, with the first floor going up to €300 for Halloween on 31 October, when entry was €22. New Year's Eve was listed from €32, 18+, 23:59 to 07:00.
The venue's ticket shop sells entry with 'fast pass', which Discoruta explains as access through the priority queue: worth it on busy nights if you don't want to wait. For groups, the booths are the way to go, with the second floor starting at a higher price than the first. Prices change from date to date, so don't assume one night's price applies to another.

Where it is
Behind the Estació del Nord, in Extramurs. Type the full street name and number 55 into your map app: 'Convento' on its own brings up other places. It's close to the San Vicente Mártir axis, so it's easy to combine with Indiana or Committee if your group splits up.
