Enjoy Discoteca Chocolate

Discoteca Chocolate is one of the legendary clubs of the Ruta del Bakalao, in Les Palmeres on the coast of Sueca, outside the city of Valencia, Spain. It opened in the summer of 1980 as Chocolate Cream, in an old rice-drying warehouse, and calls itself the "Catedral de la Música". It does not open every week: since its comeback it runs one-off parties, announced on its social media. The next date on its store on 20 October 2026 was Coliseum, on Saturday 14 November 2026. Advance tickets usually start at €15.

VIP Tables at Discoteca Chocolate
Chocolate doesn't publish a table or VIP service on its website. For a group or a birthday, message us on WhatsApp with the date and how many you are and we'll ask what's possible.
How to Get to Discoteca Chocolate
The club's own address is Ctra. Sueca–Palmeres s/n, in Les Palmeres (Sueca), a few metres from Barraca and outside Valencia. It runs its own bus, the Chocobús, with two routes: no bookings, first come first served, paid on board, and you need a ticket for the party.
Dress Code & Entry Requirements
Chocolate's FAQ says you can come as you feel comfortable, tracksuit-style clothes included, as long as you look tidy. Entry is from 16 with a signed parental authorisation for minors, who wear a different wristband and can't drink alcohol.
The cathedral of the Ruta del Bakalao
Chocolate opened in the summer of 1980 as Chocolate Cream, in a building that had been a rice-drying warehouse in Les Palmeres, a coastal hamlet of Sueca. valenciabonita counts it among the clubs of the Ruta del Bakalao: it wasn't the first on the route, but it was the first to put on concerts in the morning, and its slogan was "No digas sábado, di Chocolate". The club still calls itself the "Catedral de la Música". Its history has several chapters: a first closure in November 2004, monthly parties until 2007, a relaunch as QoQoa that ended in 2012, years of parties under the Chocolate name in other venues, and a return to its own building with occasional events from September 2022. In October 2026 its Instagram celebrated "46 years of the cathedral making history", with almost 58,000 followers.
One-off parties, not a weekly club
This is the key thing to know before you plan anything: Chocolate does not open every weekend. Its FAQ says there is no fixed calendar and that it always announces the next opening during the current event, so the social media accounts are where dates appear first. On 20 October 2026 its online store listed Coliseum on Saturday 14 November 2026, with online tickets marked as sold out and more at the box office. Artists usually play between 1:00 and 4:00 and the opening ceremony tends to be at 1:00, according to the same FAQ. The parties lean on anniversaries and remember sessions with its resident DJs. If you want to go, message us on WhatsApp: we'll tell you whether there's a date coming up and how tickets are going, so you don't drive to Les Palmeres on a night it's closed.
Tickets, age and the small print
Chocolate's own FAQ explains its pricing: advance tickets usually open at €15 and go up in phases, and box office tickets are dearer and vary by event. On top of that, the re-entry stamp is €5 and the cloakroom in the hall is usually €5. The store limits purchases to five tickets per person and tickets are personal, non-transferable and non-refundable. Age is the unusual part: entry is from 16 with a parental authorisation you download from the website, and minors wear a different wristband and cannot be served alcohol. The dress code is relaxed: you can come in whatever is comfortable, tracksuit-style clothes included, as long as you look tidy. These details come from the club's website in October 2026. For a group, write to us on WhatsApp before the date sells out.
Getting to Les Palmeres and the ChocobĂşs
Chocolate is outside the city of Valencia, on the coast of Sueca. The club gives its address as Ctra. Sueca–Palmeres s/n, in Les Palmeres, and valenciabonita places it a few metres from Barraca, so the two legends of the Ruta are neighbours. Without a car, the practical option is the Chocobús, the club's own bus with two routes. Its page says there are no reservations: seats go by order of arrival at each stop, there's about ten minutes between stops, times may shift with demand or traffic, and you pay on board, €7 return according to the bus page (the FAQ mentions €5). You need a ticket for the party or can buy one on the bus. If you drive, remember the night ends late and plan who drives back. Ask us on WhatsApp and we'll help you plan the night.
