L'Umbracle Terrace: Valencia's Open-Air Club at the City of Arts and When It Opens

L'Umbracle Terraza is an open-air club in a 4,000 m² garden under the Umbracle, the palm-lined walkway of the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, Spain. It's a seasonal terrace: in October 2026 it opens on Friday and Saturday nights from 23:00 to 07:00, with dates announced up to 31 October.

A 4,000 m² garden under the Umbracle

The terrace's own website describes it as an open-air garden of 4,000 m², with furniture and sculptures placed to give the space its own character, inside what it calls the backbone of the City of Arts and Sciences. The draw is obvious once you're there: you're dancing outdoors, under the white arches and palm trees, with Calatrava's buildings lit up around you. It's not the same as the Umbracle garden promenade that tourists walk through by day; Discoruta points out the difference so people don't mix them up. At night, the club takes over the space below.

The season: summer into autumn

L'Umbracle works in season, from spring to autumn. In summer 2026 it also hosted wine-and-music nights, such as the one on 23 July and another on 17 September. In October the Grupo Salamandra agenda has Friday 23, Saturday 24, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October from 23:00 to 07:00, plus a Sunday afternoon party on 25 October, from 18:00 to 23:59, for the half marathon. There's no Thursday session.

What isn't published is the closing date for 2026 or the reopening date for 2027. For reference, last year the terrace's Instagram announced the end of the season on 28 October 2025. Age, dress and the door

Entry is for over-18s with an ID card or passport, according to Discoruta. There's no dress code published for the terrace itself; Discoruta gives smart-casual as the general guideline. Since MYA, in the same building, bans sportswear, flip-flops, swimwear, vests and fancy dress, it makes sense to follow the same rules here. Because it's outdoors, bring a light layer for the early hours in October and keep an eye on the weather forecast.

How it connects with MYA

Same building, same operator, two venues. MYA is the indoor club below, open all year; L'Umbracle is the garden. Each has its own ticket: Discoruta warns that a MYA ticket doesn't include L'Umbracle. A student guide, on the other hand, says the two are connected on Fridays. Erasmus student agendas list both on Fridays and Saturdays. If moving between the two matters to you, ask before buying.

What a night costs

In October 2026, Grupo Salamandra's ticket shop listed entry with a drink at €22, also for Halloween on 31 October. Reserved areas were listed from €200 (Príncipe, Saler and Super VIP) and from €300 for the larger zones. Prices depend on the night, so ask us for yours.

Getting there

The Ciutat Arts i Ciències–Justícia stop on Metrovalencia line 10 is next to the complex and EMT bus 35 also runs nearby. There's a taxi rank at the entrance. The session ends at 07:00, so check the first metro or book a taxi in advance.
