Where to Go Out in Valencia: Nightlife Areas and Who Goes Where

· Updated:

Valencia, Spain doesn't have one party strip; it has six or seven areas, each with its own crowd. The big commercial clubs line Avenida San Vicente Mártir, the dressier 21+ crowd goes to Cánovas and Gran Vía, Ruzafa is the house and cocktail district, Blasco Ibáñez is the student strip, MYA sits at the City of Arts and Sciences, and Akuarela and Marina Beach Club are on the seafront. Techno means a trip out to Pinedo, Albal or Les Palmeres.

San Vicente Mártir: the big-club avenue

If you want three big commercial clubs on one avenue, this is it. Indiana is at number 95, near Plaza de España, open Thursday to Saturday from 00:30. Committee is at number 200, next to Joaquín Sorolla station, 18+ on Thursdays and 21+ on Fridays and Saturdays. Room Club, the former Cream, is at number 305 in Jesús and Patraix, with old reggaeton on Saturdays. Just off the avenue, behind Estación del Norte, Convento fills an old 1940s cinema from Thursday to Saturday. Bora Bora (Latin, Gaspar Aguilar) and BREA (crossover, Avenida del Cid) are in the same part of town.

Cánovas and Gran Vía: the dressier 21+ crowd

This is the answer to the question locals keep typing into Google: where does Valencia's posh crowd go out? Mostly here, in the Eixample. Havana, on Plaza Cánovas, runs an 18+ Saturday tardeo and a 21+ Friday night where the venue itself asks for 'elegant vibes'. Jagger Club, on Gran Vía Marqués del Túria, is a cocktail club with a dance floor that closes at 03:30, 21+ on Saturday nights. Mucho, on Calle Martí, has an after-work tardeo on Fridays, another tardeo on Saturdays and late nights with resident DJs. Expect smarter clothes, tables and fewer students.

Ruzafa: house, indie and cocktail bars

Ruzafa is where you go out on foot. Oven Club, on Gran Vía de les Germanies, plays house and tech house through a Funktion-One system from Wednesday to Saturday. Latex, on Carles Cervera, opens Friday and Saturday from 23:00 with house and disco. Resume is a record shop that turns into a small club, and Play Club, on Calle Cuba, has indie upstairs and reggaeton in its second room. Picca Club sits on Calle Tomasos, on the edge between Ruzafa and the Eixample. Bars like Barber Club and Killing Time have free entry and DJs, which makes it easy to start here and move on.

Blasco Ibáñez and Honduras: the student strip

Opposite the university campus, Rumbo 144 does an Erasmus party on Wednesdays and Jueves Universitario on Thursdays. A few blocks down, at Blasco Ibáñez 111, La3 is open every night of the year and Miniclub, at the same address, is free from Tuesday to Thursday. Around Plaza Honduras and Plaza del Cedre there are pubs like Pub Ibiza and the Latin bar Marbella The Latin Club, and the Aragón area has student pubs such as BB Club. Weeknights are busier here than anywhere else in the city.

City of Arts and Sciences

MYA is the indoor club under the Umbracle walkway, open all year, with its main entrance facing one of the pools around the Science Museum. Above it, L'Umbracle is a 4,000 m² open-air garden that works as a club terrace in the warm months; it has Friday and Saturday dates up to 31 October 2026 and no date announced after that. The two are different spaces, so check which one your ticket is for.

Malvarrosa and La Marina: by the sea

Akuarela Playa, on Calle Eugènia Viñes in Malvarrosa, is a seafront terrace club that opens Thursday to Saturday in autumn and has a Saturday afternoon remember session. Marina Beach Club, between the Marina and Las Arenas beach, is open all year, with a pool, restaurants and a club; in winter its nights move to its Playa Palapa space. Veles e Vents, in the Marina, hosts tardeos on Saturdays and events on its top floor. K-Ché, a Latin club in the Grao, and Teatro Hot, near Avenida de Francia, complete the area.

Old town and El Carmen

El Carmen is great for a drink but has no big clubs. It's music bars and small stages: Radio City on Calle Santa Teresa, open every day with concerts, flamenco and DJs, and Peter Rock on Calle Quart. Travel guides point to Calle Quart for gay bars too. The nearest club is PROYECTO/, on Calle de la Sang a few steps from Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where Club Gordo plays techno and EBM every Friday.

Campanar and outside the city

In Campanar, the complex at Corts Valencianes 58 holds Tulum (two rooms and a terrace) and Marbella Sala Show (Latin), and Kanela is close by on Doctor Montoro. For techno you need transport: Spook is in Pinedo, about 15 minutes by taxi from the centre according to valencia-fiesta; La Rítmica and JOY are in Albal; Zulú Klub is in Aldaia; Bambola is in Mislata. Barraca and Chocolate, the legends of the Ruta del Bakalao, are in Les Palmeres, in the municipality of Sueca, about 30 km south.
